Tom obtained his first degree in mathematical physics followed by an MSc in non-Newtonian fluid dynamics and PhD from Heriot Watt University in mathematics. He has published in ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations and spent a year and a half as a mathematics lecturer at Dogus University in Istanbul. He has maintained an active interest in physics-based simulation and in applying his expertise to real world problems. He brings his understanding of mathematics and fluid dynamics to reservoir simulation development.
