GPU delivers massively improved benchmark – P100
RKS have successfully run benchmark models on the NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPUs with tremendous speed improvement. Benchmarks include utilising NVIDIA’s NVlink technology which enables high speed interconnect between GPUs.

Garf Bowen presented “Parallelism at all points helping to quantify reservoir uncertainty” at the NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The results showed significantly improved performance form GPU technology.

EOG Resources and SM Energy sign R&E agreement
Ridgeway Kite, EOG Resources and SM Energy Company signed an R&D agreement on a Completion Design & Optimization Tool for Unconventional Resources. This agreement will act as a springboard to accelerate the development of unique capabilities for the simulation of Unconventional reservoirs.

Ian Pallister presented “Reservoir simulation history matching with fully integrated HPC architecture” at the Second EAGE High Performance Computing for Upstream Workshop in Duabi, UAE.
Dr. Asaad Abdollahzadeh joins RKS
Asaad has 13 years experience in petroleum and reservoir engineering areas as reservoir engineer, researcher, project manager or team leader with the tasks and responsibilities on reservoir modeling and simulation studies, field development plans, and research and development in reservoir engineering. His last position was as a Reservoir Engineer at BP in Sunbury.
